Casa Fagliano always seeks to utilise the most noble materials, shell cordovan is a rare material with unique properties that is ideal for shoes. This rich leather has the particularity of being extremely resistant due to its very dense pores, with a natural shine and strong waterproofing capacity.Shell Cordovan, as opposed to Calf leather, ripples instead of creasing, which helps to preserve its surface. The noble leather requires very little maintenance and ages beautifully. It is not incongruous to say that a well cared pair of cordovan lasts a lifetime.A range of our models are available in cordovan leather including all of our leather sneakers, our cap toe lace up boots, chukka boots and penny loafers.Cordovan leather is often used in polo boots for its strength, thickness and durability. Its leather result in a more rigid boot, especially when three layers are used, ready to receive any types of hit. The stars of the polo field will often favour a cordovan boot for its beautiful patina and extra protection. The rarity of this leather is due to its extremely complex tanning method. It takes up to 6 months of tanning and more then a hundred processes to obtain the end result, and their are a very few tanneries producing cordovan leather remaining because of its complexity. All of our models can be replicated using cordovan leather upon special request from the client.
